How to Get Hired Directly by SAP End Customers (and Skip the Body Shops)

S4 Contracts Editorial · Oct 2, 2026

Most SAP contract postings on the big boards come from staffing intermediaries. The same roles are often posted, with better terms, on the employer's own careers site. Here is how the employer-direct channel works and how to use it.

Pull up S/4HANA jobs on a large job board and look at who posted them. On a typical day, 29 of the first 30 results on Dice come from IT staffing and consulting shops, one from a global integrator, and none from an end customer. That is not because end customers are not hiring SAP talent. It is because they hire through their own applicant tracking systems, and those postings rarely make it to the boards where contractors look.

This site exists to close that gap. Here is how the direct channel works and how to get the most out of it.

Where employer-direct SAP jobs actually live

Every large employer runs its careers site on an applicant tracking system, and there are only a handful of them. Accenture, PwC, Johnson & Johnson, 3M, Caterpillar and dozens more use Workday. Honeywell, Ford and Emerson use Oracle Recruiting Cloud. EY, Capgemini, Hershey and most energy companies use SuccessFactors. Deloitte uses Avature. SAP itself moved to SmartRecruiters. Boutique partners often use Greenhouse, Lever or Workable.

S4 Contracts reads those systems directly, searches each one for SAP roles, and links you to the employer's own posting. There is no intermediary between the job card and the application form. That matters for three reasons:

  1. The posting is current. Aggregators lag; the employer's own system is the source of truth. Jobs disappear from this site within a couple of refresh cycles of being closed.
  2. The terms are the employer's terms. On a staffing-firm repost you negotiate with the firm. On a direct posting you negotiate with the budget holder.
  3. Applying puts you in their system. Recruiters at these companies search their own ATS before they call a vendor. Being in it, with a tagged profile, is how you get the call next time.

The honest trade-off

Employer-direct postings skew toward full-time and W2 roles. End customers hire permanent staff to run what they build; integrators hire W2 consultants to deliver it. Genuine corp-to-corp work is mostly brokered by staffing firms, because large companies do not contract with hundreds of individual S-corps. If you only want C2C, the direct channel is a complement to your staffing-firm relationships, not a replacement.

The exception is the SAP partner ecosystem: boutiques like Protera, Clarkston, Spinnaker Support, Argano or Bristlecone post consulting roles directly and are far more open to independent vendors than a Fortune 500 procurement department.

How to work the direct channel

Apply where the module lives. Honeywell's SAP postings sit in Charlotte and Atlanta. Owens Corning's sit in Toledo. Capgemini's SAP practice posts in Atlanta, Dallas and Houston. Big-four SAP practices post the same role in a dozen cities. Location pages on this board, such as SAP jobs in Texas, let you see where a program is actually being staffed.

Search their system by req, not by title. Enterprise postings use internal naming ("Principal IT Analyst - SAP S/4 FICO", "Staff Systems Configurator, SAP Functional Analyst"). Our tagger normalizes those into modules so they appear under FICO or MM, but the title you apply to will look corporate. Do not let that put you off.

Read the posting for hidden contract signals. Many "full-time" postings at integrators are project-based roles with a defined end. Terms like "project", "program", "FY27" or "managed services" in the title usually mean the engagement is tied to a client contract.

Keep the employer's own profile current. Workday and SuccessFactors profiles persist across requisitions. A complete profile with your modules, S/4HANA versions and certifications is searchable by that company's recruiters for years.

Why this is the bigger market anyway

The H-1B data makes the point. In fiscal 2026, roughly 5,000 labor condition applications carried SAP job titles, and the largest sponsors were staffing firms, each filing a few hundred. Meanwhile the employer-direct inventory on this board alone runs to hundreds of roles from a hundred-plus companies, and we are adding more every week. The intermediated market is loud; the direct market is larger.

Start with the companies page to see who is hiring right now, then follow the one that matches your module.

SAP S/4HANA Contract Rates in 2026: What US Consultants Actually Earn

Posted hourly rates for SAP contractors cluster between $55 and $90 an hour, with architects well above that. Here is what the data shows by module, by contract type, and why staffing-firm 'rate guides' run higher than what employers actually pay.
